About Us
Have you ever wondered what you would do if faced with an impossible situation with nowhere to turn?
As you read this, our neighbors in need are coming to PATH (People Attempting to Help) today looking for rent and utility assistance, lifesaving emergency prescription assistance, vision and dental care, food, or affordable housing. Each person meets with a caseworker to determine needs, identify solutions, and ultimately, leave feeling they have a voice and someone who cares. Your gift provides hope and helps people get back on their feet and work toward lives of stability and opportunity.
Founded 39 years ago by Mrs. Gertrude Windsor, PATH remains committed to offering kindness and respect, providing relief, and empowering local families and individuals. 100% of funds raised through East Texas Giving Day stay in our area to help our East Texas neighbors in need. PATH serves 120-150 families each day and 22,000 people in 2023.
PATH is recognized for its commitment to accountability and transparency. Charity Navigator rates PATH as a 4-star charity, the highest rating possible based on financial accountability and transparency. PATH has also achieved Gold Status on Candid, is a BBB Accredited Charity, and has received the 2022 BBB Award for Nonprofit Excellence. Our mission is to restore hope with a personalized approach to empower our East Texas neighbors to thrive in our community.
